Meet the artist

My name is Blanca Paulina Becerra Bibian but my friends call me Blanca, Pau, or B and refer to me with any pronouns. I grew up in Guanajuato, Mexico as the eldest child of three. I’ve been told that as soon as I learned to hold pencils and crayons there was no stopping me from creating. Although I have been an artist all my life, when I was a kid I aspired to become an archeologist or an astronomer.

I was raised catholic so for a long time this religion was a big part of my life. However, sometime after moving to the United States, I began exploring other philosophies and learned about spirituality. It was also during my teenage years that I began to see my home country from a different perspective and developed a deep admiration for my culture.

Most of my inspiration comes from music and generally from other artists’ artworks. Since my artwork dwells on many serious topics, it is important for me to educate myself on the ones I plan to work with. I also like to research topics on my special interests and share my newfound knowledge. I like to pass the time watching comedy shows, anime, and films (mostly horror), listening to podcasts, drawing fan art, and spending time with my life partner and cats (Misa and Catli).
